Why Girls
We want to make the world a better and safer place for girls.
Across Africa, countless girls face harsh realities of child marriage, sexual violence, HIV, unwanted pregnancies, and systemic inequality. These challenges silence their voices and limit their futures. At HOPE Africa, we are driven by the belief that every girl deserves the chance to succeed. We collaborate with local organizations and families to dismantle barriers that hold girls back from accessing education and opportunities that build life skills and emotional resilience.
'Our mission is clear. We're amplifying the voice and agency of girls by creating equal opportunities so girls can lead empowered lives and shape their communities for the better.' - Noel Ifeanyi Alumona
Driving change through education for girls
Research and reality show us that women and girls across the world are often left on the margins of society and denied opportunities when it comes to sports and education.
Even in places with progressive ideals and agendas around equality, we do not always build a strong enough bridge to get women and girls fully and equally involved, and this means that they miss out and feel isolated in their communities. It means that society misses out on their brilliant contributions.
When we educate girls, we give them power, voice and agency to make the world better.
Girls are the future of Africa and the world
Investing in girls is an investment in Africa’s future. At HOPE, we empower them with education, sexual and reproductive health knowledge, and the tools to advocate for themselves.
We champion evidence-based programs that break the cycle of poverty and violence.
Imagine a future where menstrual health literacy empowers girls to manage their periods with dignity, not fear. Imagine classrooms filled with confident young women, equipped with the knowledge and skills to build better lives for themselves and their families. This is the future HOPE strives for. Working together, we can empower 5 million girls for life by 2030.
